Why we also ask for the postcode
Our booking numbers run in sequence: 2026-00392, 2026-00393, 2026-00394. If the page opened on the number alone, anyone could count upwards and read other companies’ consignment notes and invoices. We carry engines and aircraft parts — that risk is not theoretical.
The postcode of the delivery address is what the real consignee has in front of them and a stranger does not. That is also why the failure message is always the same: we never reveal whether a number exists.
If you were given a reference such as KMD-RY7EW87NN8, it works on its own. That reference is random and cannot be guessed, so no second factor is needed.
Why we do not show a precise position
The position of a van is also the position of a specific person. So publicly we show a milestone and an approximate area — “A8 near Ulm” — never coordinates. In the customer portal you see the same, plus all of your bookings at once.
